Creating and installing the Document Generation Services components

This procedure explains the process for installing Document Generation Services, Management Service, and Scheduler Service.

Before installing, verify the following:

  1. In the Transforms.xml file located in InstallTransformKit-dgs, change all server names to the desired server name or URL. See Appendix: Sample Transforms.xml file for more information.
  2. Create a ExpereRepository folder; create the following folders inside ExpereRepository:
    • BuildContent
    • DeployedContent
    • DeployedERLContent
    • Uploads
    • Temp
  3. Share ExpereRepository folder with the accounts running DocGenServiceHost and Manangement.
  4. In the InitialTransformKit-DGS file, change MsiTransform.exe-rename to MsiTransform.exe.
  5. Run the run.bat file to create the DocGenServicesInstall-64bit.msi file.
    Note: The DocGenServicesInstall-64bit.msi installation file will be located in the newly-created Installs folder.
  6. Run the DocGenServicesInstall-64bit.msi installation file.
  7. Click any of the checkboxes:
    • Doc Gen Services Components
    • Management Service
    • Scheduler Service
  8. Accept all defaults and click Install.
  9. Check the event logs to troubleshoot any database errors. See Appendix: Using Log Files.
